Barbara L. Richard

Barbara Richard was raised in Athens, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Athens High School, she attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania where she earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration. While at Bucknell University, she volunteered as a coordinator for the Big Brother/Big Sister Program and was appointed to the Dean's List. She spent one undergraduate semester abroad studying at the University of Sydney in Australia. She attended the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville, earning her Juris Doctor degree. While there she participated in the Virgil G. Hawkins Civil Clinic Environmental Law Society and was on the Dean's List.

After graduating from law school, Ms. Richard worked as a judicial clerk for the Judge of Compensation Claims in District G. Following completion of that clerkship in May 1995, Ms. Richard moved to Ocala, Florida and began working for Daniel L. Hightower, PA. She is a Florida Bar Board Certified trial lawyer handling workers' compensation. She is a member of the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, and Marion County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She is also a member of Florida Workers' Advocates, an association that actively advocates the rights of injured workers in Florida.
